The 13th Annual Harvest Fair is Almost Here!

harvest-fair-sign-2016Rain or shine, the SPTO Sponsored Harvest Fair at the Sherman School is sure to be lots of fun for everyone! So, mark your family calendar for Saturday, October 15th from noon to 4 p.m. and get ready to be entertained.

Back by popular demand is the “After Hours Band” and they’ll be performing popular Classic Rock & Pop tunes for children and adults alike. As for what’s new, Strawberry Fields Farm is working on a surprise activity. There are event upgrades to also enjoy thanks to the New Milford Sports Club.

Children will love bouncing in an inflatable obstacle course with the Sherman Democratic Town Committee, win prizes at the Cake Walk Spectacular with the Sherman Republican Town Committee, decorate cookies with American Pie Company cookies and Sherman IGA extras, donut bob with Julia’s Wings, get their faces painted and arms tattooed, create “I am Thankful for…” signs with the Girl Scouts Troop #40072, build crafts with Home Depot Kids Workshop kits, get their nails painted at the Amore Table!, make sand art pendants and picture frames, play Bingo and win prizes, enter decorated pumpkins to win prizes, climb a Sherman fire truck, explore a State Trooper vehicle, see how a cherry picker bucket truck works with PS Enterprises, sit in an antique Farmall tractor, and build trendy UPCYCLE! arts and crafts with Little Munchkins.

What’s more, several local businesses are donating prizes and supplies: Agway – Housatonic Ave., American Pie Company, Amore Restaurant, Bank Street Movie Theater, Big Y, Carousel Kidsignment Shop, Carvel, Hair by Susi, Happy Rainbows, Holiday Restaurant, Home Depot of New Milford, Judson’s Farm Market, New Milford Sports Club, Nordica Toys, Play, Sacred Grounds Coffee Roasters, Sherman IGA, Sherman Sentinel, Sherman Playhouse, Stephanie Spinner Children’s Books, Strawberry Fields Farm, Tasty Waves, Town Tribune, Stop & Shop of New Fairfield & New Milford, and Webster Bank of Sherman.

The cost is $10 per child at the door, or $25 maximum per family, and the main event is free for adults.

However, bring extra money just in case you’d like to buy gently used costumes for Halloween or dress-up. Class fundraisers like Concessions and the Haunted Hallway cost extra and so does full face painting.
