For five fun-filled days in August, the 22nd through the 26th, Strawberry Fields Farm in Sherman is offering an exciting, hands-on learning experience in organic farming for children ages 8, 9, and 10.
Starting with a tour of the farm, children will learn the basics about how easy it is to grow veggies, herbs, and flowers. They’ll also learn about the importance of natural fertilizer and compost, collect edible weeds to make muffins, create scarecrows to keep the birds out of the blueberry patch, and help a farmer pick greens and heirloom tomatoes.
Spending time on the farm, in the kitchen, doing crafts and just having a fantastic time is what summer is all about!
